Katrina Anniversary: Hands Around the Dome Ceremony
08/30/2008 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm

As a part of the 3rd Anniversary commemoration of the Katrina disaster and its aftermath, the African American Leadership Project will host its 3rd "Hands Around the Dome Ceremony" on Saturday, August 30, 2008 from 1 pm to 3:30 pm at the Louisiana Superdome.

The HADC serves as a reminder of the suffering and loss from the Katrina disaster, and it affirms our resolve to restore our lives and rebuild our city. It is a spiritual, cultural and political event engaged in by community leaders, organizations, religious groups, elected officials, cultural artists and everyday citizens.

Help us to remind the country that New Orleans is still in recovery and that folks are still struggling to return. A disaster can happen anywhere at any time. So Rebuild New Orleans and Rebuild America.

The public is welcome and encouraged to participate in the HADC on Saturday, August 30th from 1 pm to 3:30 pm.
